Crime: the causes, failed solutions and hope
Why government never fixes the problems but only makes them worse
What is the government’s answer to any problem? If you answered money, you are correct. For example: Seattle has a serious homeless problem coupled with drug addiction. Gateway Pundit reports, that Seattle’s mayor has a bright idea is to “offer gift cards to encourage drug addicts to accept treatment services.” That’s not all, to reduce overdoses, the mayor is distributing Narcan throughout the city in vending machines.
And in Chicago, there was a big riot resulting in 2 teens being shot and the destruction of property. The new mayor excused the behavior saying, “it is not constructive to demonize youth who have otherwise been starved of opportunities in their own communities.” Cal Thomas has an excellent essay about it here.
Getting back to my question. Does government money ever fix the problem? No, because the root of the problem is in the heart of mankind. Money can’t make people good. Only God can do that work.
How to know if you are a righteous person
by Gary Varvel (credit - Jeff Foxworthy)
“But God also rescued Lot out of Sodom because he was a righteous man who was sick of the shameful immorality of the wicked people around him.” (2 Peter 2:7 - NLT)
If you are vexed, grieved, distressed or “sick of the shameful immorality of the wicked people” around you? You might be a righteous person.
If you are angered by seeing wild mobs destroying the inner city? You might be a righteous person.
If you are disgusted by smash and grab mobs who loot stores? You might be a righteous person.
If you are grieved by seeing drug-addicted homeless people defecating on city streets? You might be a righteous person.
If you are outraged by seeing the destruction of businesses, police cars and private property by rioting thugs? You might be a righteous person.
If you are sick of biological males dominating women’s sports? You might be a righteous person.
If you are annoyed by progressive people who won’t answer the question, “what is a woman?” You might be a righteous person.
If you are peeved by people who demand you use their preferred pronouns? You might be a righteous person.
If you are enraged by adults who demand the right to teach kindergarteners about transgender transitioning? You might be a righteous person.
If you are exasperated with schools teaching white children that their skin color defines them as either oppressors or oppressed? You might be a righteous person.
Clarification: being sick and tired of the immorality of the culture does not make you righteous before a holy God. It just means that you have common sense.
The Bible says that true righteousness is only by faith in the Lord. Genesis 15:6 says, “Abram believed the Lord, and He credited it to him as righteousness.”
Who is the Lord? Romans 10:9 says, “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
So did Abram (Abraham) believe in Jesus? Jesus said in John 8:56, “Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing my day; he saw it and was glad.” That’s right, Abraham saw Jesus in the days of Lot.
How did a 21-year-old National Guardsman with only a high school diploma get access to high level top secret documents? Republican Senator Lindsey Graham commented: “…some people need to be fired over this.” What has happened to the U.S. Military?
CULTURE WAR CONTINUES
On Tuesday, I linked to an undercover video done by Accuracy in Media showing several Indiana public school administrators admitting that they are teaching CRT, and the Woke religion. Yes, I said religion. Their god is themselves, they worship sexual identities and demand that everyone worship with them by using their preferred pronouns. This is not just happening in Indiana, but all over the country.
Critical race theory teaches kids the Marxist doctrine of the oppressed and oppressor except they use race instead of the rich vs. poor. Children are taught that the color of their skin defines them. It demonizes white kids as the oppressors based on the actions of white people in history. What happened to judging children by their character?
