Gary Varvel: A Marxist sings New York, New York
Start spreadin’ the news. Democrats have gone full-Karl Marx with the primary election of Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani.
Imagine, if you will, Mamdani crooning Frank Sinatra’s signature song, “Theme from New York, New York.”
Mandani’s lyrics should scare off the audience. He’s an unapologetic communist, uh I mean, Democratic socialist who thinks he can tax his way to utopia. Despite the fact that socialim has never worked in history, the Democrat voters in New York chose him to be their candidate.
If he wins the general election, look for the wealthy to vote with their feet and leave for low-tax states and watch the City of Dreams turn into a nightmare.
