The book of Job reveals that the devil cannot do anything to me beyond what God allows him to do.
Therefore, when bad things happen, I view it through a Biblical lens. Meaning, since God allowed this in my life, what am I supposed to learn from it? How am I supposed to respond? What would Jesus do?
It is this understanding that has enabled me to do opinion journalism knowing that I will occasionally be attacked. I’m not immune to anxiety, but I have a resource in Jesus through prayer that gives me the “peace of God which surpasses all understanding.”
