Hat tip to KC Green who created the cartoon of a dog sitting a room, surrounded by fire saying “This is fine.” This classic illustration reflects what the Democrats are doing when they say “stand with the protesters” who are violently destroying property. Obviously, it’s NOT fine.

Despite video footage showing rioters hurling rocks, Molotov cocktails, torching cars while burning American flags, Rep. Maxine Waters, the Democrat Congresswoman from California said, “There was no violence. I was on the street, I know.”

In the words of Speaker Mike Johnson, “Bless her heart.”

I must have been absent from school the day they taught “How to Make Your Point by Lighting Stuff on Fire.” Please, Maxine, tell me more about how breaking windows, looting stores and assaulting people is the pinnacle of moral high ground.

Isaiah 5:20 says, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.”

The definition of “Woe” is: great sorrow; grief; misery; affliction; trouble.

That is what is coming to everyone who calls evil good.

But the Bible is clear, none of us are “fine.” We have all sinned and come short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)

Fortunately, Jesus offers forgiveness because he took the “great sorrow and misery” for us. And just as the thief on the cross was forgiven when he admitted that he deserved his punishment and then asked Jesus to remember him when he came into his kingdom, (Luke 23:42-43) there is also forgiveness for us.

1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”

Listen, when the world is on fire and people are going crazy, only followers of Jesus Christ are the ones who are truly “fine.”
