Happy 249th birthday, America. I’m a patriot. I believe in “one nation, under God, indivisible… “

Unfortunately America today is not what the Founding Father’s envisioned. We are the home to a great number of people who hate the red, white and blue. They proudly wave the flag of their home country in their mostly “peaceful protests” of our country.

I recently asked the question, how did this happen to our country? How did our house get so divided?

The answer is: We slowly destroyed the Spiritual foundation of our house.

• Our Founding Fathers built our nation’s laws on a foundation of Biblical morality.

• The Declaration of Independence begins with the phrase "endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights." That means our basic human rights are not granted by any government, but by God. And since our rights come from God, they can’t be taken away by government.

Our third President Thomas Jefferson said, “God who gave us life gave us liberty. Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that these liberties are the gift of God? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that his justice cannot sleep forever.”

But during the 20th century, our schools and universities began teaching evolution, despite no scientific proof. The Biblical foundation of America began to be chipped away and replaced with a secular worldview of ever-changing sand. Secularism (which is godlessness) impacted every area of American life — entertainment, culture but most importantly, the home.

The home is the first institution ever created by God—before the church, state or nations. The home is where children learned the moral law, respect for authority, responsibility, hard work, to love your neighbor and a reliance on God.

But secularism, (godlessness), made everyone their own god. The result: during the 1970s and early 1980s America experienced a significant and drastic increase in divorce rates.

Nearly 1 in 4 children in the U.S. today lives without a father in the home and children without fathers are more likely to experience poverty, delinquency, addiction, and imprisonment.

Romans 1:18 says, “The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness,

Now look at how the wrath of God is revealed. Romans 1:28 says, “Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done.”

In other words, God’s wrath, in this case, is abandonment. When America turned its back on God, He turned His back on America. Since we didn’t want the Bible taught in schools as it was during the founding of our country, God gave our people over to a “depraved mind.”

As a result we have done what “ought not to be done” — like men using women’s bathrooms and beating them in women’s sports. Gender mutilation surgeries for children and pornography in elementary school libraries.

On top of this madness, the Biden administration disregarded immigration policy and invited in millions of people to come here illegally looking for what they can get out of America. But their hatred for America shows when they wave the flag of their home country and burn ours in protest of our country.

Amos 3:3 says, “Can two people walk together without agreeing on the direction?”

The answer is no. America is suffering a perfect storm of godless decisions which are bearing rotten spiritual fruit. America needs to return to principles that the Founders intended. On America’s 249th birthday, she needs a spiritual revival.
