A caged lion gets housing, food and health care for free, it also loses its freedom. Likewise, the more we expect government to do for us, the more liberties we forfeit.

Housing, food, clothing, health care, transportation etc., were traditionally funded by income from working a job. But progressive liberal politicians believe it is the job of government to supply the needs of families. This makes human government a god providing for its citizens.

G.K. Chesterton said, “Once abolish the God, and the government becomes the God.”

Socialist politicians say, we’ll take money from the rich and redistribute it to those who won’t work. A fact of human nature is that if you pay people not to work, then more and more people will choose not to work. But the Bible says in 2 Thessalonians 3:10, “If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat.”

Five years ago, Kamala Harris said that Health Care is a right. FYI: Health Care is not mentioned in the Bill of Rights. Nevertheless, Harris supported and promoted Bernie Sanders’ Medicare For All bill. Medicare is expected to go broke by 2036. But Harris wants to add millions of people to the program and end private insurance.

Don’t forget President Obama’s famous lie, “If you like your insurance, you can keep your insurance.”

I have drawn cartoons about the government for 40+ years and I’ve noticed that government doesn’t do things as efficiently as the private sector. And the more we ask the government to do, the bigger it grows and the more taxpayer money it wastes.

“Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey?..” -Romans 6:16

The welfare system has essentially enslaved single-parents by making them abide by government rules in order to qualify for financial assistance. The fact is, free stuff is never free. There are always strings attached.

As President Ronald Reagan said, “Government isn’t the solution to our problems. Government IS the problem.”

The Hill has listed Kamala’s top 5 flip flops (which are in my cartoon). As Harris prepares for her debate with former President Trump, her biggest problem is staring at her in the mirror. In her an interview on CNN last night, her first since being selected as the Democrat nominee, Harris was asked about her changing policies and she insisted that her values haven’t changed. (Meaning, she still believes what she said in 2019 when she ran for president, but she has to lie now to get elected).

Don’t forget that she dropped out of the presidential race in 2020 before the first primary. And now she’s the Democrat nominee for president without ever receiving ONE VOTE.

SPEAKING EVENTS

On Wednesday, I spoke to the Best Years Fellowship at East 91st Street Christian Church. My topic was the Faith of the Founding Fathers. In order for America to find the best path forward we need to understand where we came from. In Revelation 2:4-5 we are told that the church in Ephesus had left its first love and that they needed to (1) remember their beginning, (2) repent of their sin and (3) return to God. I believe America needs to implement the same formula.

I will be the keynote speaker at the Right to Life of Indianapolis Celebrate Life Dinner Fundraiser at the Marriot Ballroom on October 1.
