The verse for today: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” - Matthew 5:16.
Did you know that at its brightest, the moon only reflects 3-12 percent of the brightness of the sun? Its reflection is lessened because of its distance from the sun, the atmosphere of the world and whether it’s obscured by clouds.
Just like the moon reflects the sun, our life should reflect the Son. But our light can also be lessened by our distance from the Son of God, our conformity to the world and obscured by sin in our life.
Our lives reflect what we think. And like a computer, we can only output what we’ve input. So living the right way depends on the information we are putting into our mind? What kinds of things do you read? What do you watch on TV? These things impact the way we think and live and the light of God we reflect.
Do you have some things that are obscuring the light of the Son? Get them out of your life and replace them with the Word of God. Jesus said that the goal is to “glorify your Father in heaven.”
None of us is perfect, yet. We are a work in progress. Remember, the light of your life impacts others, especially your children and grandchildren. So let your light shine.
