Why ‘He Gets Us’ Will FAIL

The $100 million launch of the “He Gets Us” ad campaign is trying to make Jesus look cool to a culture that hates Christianity. They should have named the campaign, Make Jesus Cool Again. Ok, maybe that’s too Trumpian.
The organizers told Christianity Today, they plan to spend $1 billion on these ads over 3 years. “The goal is to target millennials and Gen Z “with a carefully crafted, exhaustively researched, and market-tested message about Jesus Christ: He gets us.”
Well, I have some bad news; market-tested research is not Biblical evangelism and it is doomed to fail. It won’t bear fruit (souls) because the ads are using the wrong seed (message).
The organizers spent $20 million on 2 Super Bowl ads. The message: “Be Childlike” and “Love Your Enemies.”
The response: “That money could have purchased food for the poor,” Tweeted the critics.
The progressive Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Tweeted, “Something tells me Jesus would *not* spend millions of dollars on Super Bowl ads to make fascism look benign.”
Do you know why they responded like Marxists, I mean Judas, who was concerned only about money? (John 12:5). Because the ads contain the wrong seed which lacks the power of God. Millennials and Gen Z need to hear the gospel.
What’s the gospel? The short version: We are all sinners. The penalty for sin is death. God loves us so much that He sent Jesus, who is the image of the invisible God, to become a man and die in our place to save us from hell. And God offers eternal life to whoever repents of their sin and trusts in Jesus alone for their salvation. That’s the meaning of Christmas, Charlie Brown.
Romans 1:16 says, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes. First for the Jew and then for the Gentile.”
Without the gospel, there is no power of conviction. Without conviction, there is no change of heart, mind, soul or life.
In Mark 10:17-27, a man asked Jesus how to inherit eternal life. Jesus used the Ten Commandments to reveal to the man that he loved his money more than God. Until we admit we have broken God’s laws and that we’re in trouble, we will never believe that we need salvation.
Video is the most powerful medium of our age. The devil has used it to corrupt our culture. It’s time for Christians to fight back using video to tell with the most powerful message ever told: the gospel of Jesus Christ.
While I appreciate the Christians like Hobby Lobby founder David Green for funding a media campaign to reach the lost, I suggest he hire a gospel-centered production company to tell the story. (My filmmaking sons might be interested).
President Biden was mentioned in a 2017 email to Hunter Biden discussing a multimillion-dollar natural gas deal with potential links to China. The ‘Big Guy’ appears to be connected to Hunter’s business deals in China.
