Gary Varvel: Another Biden dog bite

Election results, abortion plus weaponized government election interference

It looks like President Biden may not have a leg to stand on in the 2024 election. Biden continues to repeat that he’s “never been more optimistic,” but Americans aren’t buying it.

The political polls show that 22 percent of Democratic black voters support Trump. A staggering 71 percent of voters say that Biden is “too old” to be president, including 54 percent of his own backers. Only 39 percent felt the same way about Trump, including 19 percent of Trump’s backers.

Besides Biden’s feeble falls and cognitive confusion, Bidenomics is costing the average family an extra $700 a month. That’s over $8000 a year. His open border policy is endangering Americans with fentanyl deaths and rising crime. His foreign policy has been a disaster. And Biden’s answer to every problem is more government spending when we are $33 trillion in debt. This information has worried Democrats and some are suggesting Biden drop out of the race.

ELECTION RESULTS

On Tuesday, Democrats won some key off-year elections giving them new hope for 2024. How could this happen when Democratic policies are responsible for the problems we are facing?

The mainstream media concluded that abortion was the winning issue for Democrats. That’s right, despite the utter failure of Bidenomics, open borders, crime, homelessness and drugs, the most important issue for voters is a “woman’s right to choose.” To choose what? Let’s finish the sentence since they won’t: A woman’s right to choose to kill and dismember her preborn child. Let’s not sugar-coat what it really is. Abortion kills.

The Bible warns us many times, “Do not be deceived.” But pro-abortion supporters have deceived themselves in that they won't admit that abortion kills human beings or they argue that the fetus (child) is not viable outside of the womb so that makes it ok. That’s a lie.

But God told the prophet Jeremiah, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you.” (Jeremiah 1:5) If God knows us before he creates us in the womb, then abortion violates the Sixth Commandment - “Thou shalt not kill.”

Sadly, since Roe was overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court, abortions have continued unabated adding to the 62 million babies that have been killed since 1973.

If Democrats want to make the 2024 election about abortion, then Republicans should not be afraid to define for the voters what abortion is: “the killing of innocent human life.” “Pro-choice” means “pro-death.”

Democrats should own the moniker: Pro-death party. After all their economic policy, immigration policy, crime policy, deficit-spending policy, gender policy, public school and drug policies are killing Americans.

In 1992, Bill Clinton’s political advisor James Carville said, “It’s the economy stupid.” That was a winning slogan for Democrats then but not anymore.

LET VOTERS DECIDE

Former President Donald Trump is leading in the polls and the left is freaking out. If they can’t convince voters to reject him, then they’ll use the DOJ, FBI and the courts to stop Trump.

Trump has been called a threat to democracy. But isn’t election interference by big government entities to restrict voters their right to vote more of a threat?

New York AG Letitia James, Judge Arthur Engoron, Special Counsel Jack Smith and similar government bodies have weaponized government power to keep President Donald Trump off of the ballot so that Americans won’t have a chance to vote for him.

Trump is right when he says that the trial in New York is a sham. Trump is accused of inflating his net worth by billions of dollars to obtain benefits such as better bank loans and reduced tax bills. For example, Trump’s home in Florida has been valued at $18 million by the prosecution when the surrounding properties have sold for hundreds of millions. But beside the property values, this is a case where there are no victims. The banks made loans to Trump’s business and they were paid back.

If you had a doubt that this case wasn’t political, watch this video of AG James campaigning in 2018 telling voters that she was going to get Trump. I haven’t seen this in the mainstream media. I wonder why? I’m being facetious. Of course, the media doesn’t want you to see this because it’s evidence of the weaponization of government power against a political opponent.

If Trump had decided NOT to run for president, I sincerely doubt that he’d be in court fighting over property values.
