Here’s a threat to democracy: the Colorado Supreme Court decided that voters can’t be trusted so they ruled Donald Trump must be removed from the 2024 ballot.

GOOD CALLED EVIL

“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light
and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.” - Isaiah 5:20

The latest example of calling good evil is a story by ABC News titled, “Speaker Mike Johnson and daughter were profiled attending 'purity ball' in 2015 German TV news segment.” Johnson’s daughter was 13 at the time.

FYI: a ‘purity ball’ is father-daughter formal event where teens make a commitment to stay celibate until marriage. This is a good thing. Out-of-wedlock births and venereal disease would greatly reduce if more young people waited until marriage before having sex.

But the ABC article makes this good thing sound evil with this quote, "This looks like a wedding," a news reporter says in German in a 2015 n-tv news segment that was unearthed by ABC News. "But they are not bride and groom -- but rather father and ... daughter," added the reporter. Did you catch the insinuation? Taking your daughter on a date is evil to these people.

A godless or pagan culture doesn’t, no can’t, understand purity. Without God and a standard of morality, everyone becomes their own god and they establish a moral law unto themselves. Therefore, pagan people have no reason to deny themselves of lustful desires and they think people who hold to Biblical standards are fools.

CANCELLING CHRISTMAS?

The New York Post reports, “Hundreds of pro-Palestinian protesters converged on Midtown Monday, lugging a blood-red mock Nativity scene and chanting ‘Christmas is canceled here.’”

Ah, the cancel culture strikes again. Seven people were arrested by NYPD after several skirmishes occurred. This is another example of the War Within America.

“The idols of the nations are silver and gold, made by human hands. They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but cannot see…Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them.” - Psalm 135:15-18

There are 3 eternal truths in these verses:

We all worship.
We all become like the thing we worship.
In time, nations are transformed into the things the people worship.

During the 2020 George Floyd riots, I mean peaceful protests, we witnessed violence in the streets of major cities.

The Romans worshipped the god of Mars, which was the god of war and violence. People who get violent in our streets are worshipping the god of violence. Riots are a physical manifestation of a spiritual battle.

Psalm 135:18 says that we become like the thing we worship. Think about it. Sports fans buy merchandise of the team they idolize. They wear the jersey of their favorite athlete. People want to be identified with a cause bigger than themselves. The people who worship idols, become like their idol and unable to discern spiritual truth. And in time, a nation of idol worshippers will transform its society to reject God and spiritual truth.

Which reminded me, in May, The Guardian reported that at least “19 cities will pay settlements to protesters who sustained injuries as a result of law enforcement action.”

So violence pays. Create a disturbance, act like a fool, attack police and if the cops get too rough restraining you, you get paid. Rest assured that if we subsidize protesters, we will get more protests.

But there is hope. And the people of God, who share the word of God, have the power of God to turn the world upside down. (Acts 17:6).

And anyone who worships God will become like Him. Romans 8:29, “For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son…”
