No Greater LOVE

Our Father in heaven, today we remember the American soldiers who paid the ultimate sacrifice so that we might live free. We pray for their families who lost their loved ones and ask that you comfort and strengthen them in time of loss and grief. 

We remember that our way of life was purchased with a great price by brave men and women who loved America and died defending it from evil. And we honor them for their sacrifice.

We are also reminded that Jesus said that the greatest example of love is when one lays down their life for their friend (John 15:13)

We remember that Jesus demonstrated His great love for us by willingly dying on the cross to save us from sin and death. We remember that it was NOT the 3 nails in his hands and feet that held Him on the cross, but it was His great love for us sinners. We remember Your word says:

“For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.” (2 Corinthians 5:21)

So on this day we honor our fallen soldiers but we worship Jesus for dying for our sins and rising to give us eternal life.

AMEN.
