Gary Varvel: Kamala sings the blues
Defining misinformation plus commentary on the Harris media interviews
Kamala Harris has been distancing herself from her boss saying, “I’m not Joe Biden.” But Biden told reporters that he and Kamala are “singing from the same song sheet.”
And what are they singing? The blues, evidently; Open borders, inflation, Bidenomics and Build Back Better policy blues.
President Biden gave two press briefings on Wednesday and one on Thursday in which he accused former President Donald Trump of spreading “misinformation.” He didn’t, however, define what the misinformation actually was.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre also used the misinformation/disinformation mantra when Fox News’ Peter Doocy asked: Why does the Biden administration have close to $157 million ready to go for Lebanon aid but has to go hat in hand to Congress for extra funds for FEMA to deal with Hurricane Helene damage? (New York Post story)
Doocy was quoting the administration’s numbers. When the facts make Biden look bad, it’s “misinformation.”
In Biden’s final swipe at Trump on Thursday, he said, “Former President Trump, get a life, man. Help these people.” (Here’s the C-Span clip). Uh, excuse me, but while Biden was reclining on the beach, Trump is the one who talked Elon Musk into getting Starlink access for the victims of hurricane Helene. Trump also visited Franklin Graham’s Samaritan’s Purse and encouraged people to give to the charitable organization that was on the ground with supplies for people who had lost everything.
